FIELDSTONE FARM

Little Victories... Big Impact

Baby Huey

Baby Huey the Horse

Well, hey there! My name is Baby Huey, yes that is my real name and I fit it very well. I am a gray Percheron gelding born in 1993. Don’t be alarmed by my large stature – 16.2 hands tall looks mighty big when you look at me. I am very big boned. However, I am quite a laid back fellow. I respond extremely well to voice commands, so please make sure you tell me what to do – I am not a mind reader.

I haven’t done much for the past few years except hang out in a pasture. My donors, Cathy and Don Nelson thought I should be doing something with my talent besides being a lawn ornament. I was donated here in February of 2008 and boy, am I loving this! I really like to work. Prior to arriving at Fieldstone Farm. I went on many trail rides. The ring work is a little new for me. Not to worry, I am a quick study. I am quite easy to lead, but at the trot tracking left I need a little help staying on the rail. Just a little guidance from my leader or rider and I am back on track. A few things you should know about me. I have very large hooves, to accommodate my body, but I do pick them up very well. I stand great for grooming, but I do like to stand as far forward as possible so I can check out all the action in the aisle ways! The activities in the ring are pretty interesting. However, I am new to the program and I am sure I haven’t seen everything. In fact, I don’t even know what the trails look like around here yet or the sensory course or outdoor arena. Can’t wait until spring when I can check all that out. I am pretty excited to have so many friends and so much stuff going on all the time. I am sure to see you all soon! Make sure you come check me out and say "hi" – you can’t miss me!
