FIELDSTONE FARM

Little Victories... Big Impact

Katie

Katie the Horse

Hi everyone! My name is Katie. I am registered with the American Paint Horse Association under the name "Skippin to Easter". I may not have as much color as some of the other Paint horses here, but I have enough to catch your attention. I am a flashy, 15.1 hand sorrel overo mare. I am pretty cute and have a super personality. Well, you'll see when you meet me! I was born in 1997 and have been quite busy most of my life. I have always been a children's horse, little bit of Hunter stuff, Showmanship, 4-H and mostly western. My easy going personality, impeccable manners and my size make me a super youth horse. I love being around kids- I can teach them so much. I am quite the lady, polite in every way! One instructor even compared me to Mary Poppins, "perfect in every way". I guess I already have quite the fan club. I bet there will be lots of volunteers waiting to be my horse buddy. I was donated in October of 2009 by Susan Hunter of Hermitage.

Susan's daughter became interested in other activities and thought that I would really like it here. I sure do! There are so many people and I get lots of attention. I most recently was shown in western pleasure as you will see how I move in lessons. I have a very slow trot. I am easy to lead and respect your space. Please feel free to talk to me, I do respond very well to all verbal cues. I love to be groomed, so I can look pretty, but what lady doesn't want to look her best? I may give you a little trouble picking out my left rear hoof, I get a little stiff from time to time. I know I sound perfect, but I do have one minor flaw; I am a little crabby and do not make "lady-like" faces when you tighten my girth. Please adjust my girth slowly. I love all the activities that are going on in the ring. Trail riding out back is pretty fun too. And speaking of trail rides, my sensitive skin seems to attract the bugs and you may notice in the summer that I get bumps from them. Not to worry, they really don't bother me, they just look ugly. Well, I have rambled on enough about myself, you will learn more about me when I work with you in lessons! See you soon!
