Little Victories... Big Impact

Max

Max the Horse

Hi there! My registered Quarter horse name is Razor Totin Jim, but please call me Max. I was born in 1990 and boy, have I done a lot! I was shown as a youngster in the Quarter horse circuit and continued to show there for many years (since I was doing so well). I also showed in the USEF and the OHJA. I was ridden both English and Western. A few years ago, I won big at the Quarter Horse Congress in english equitation. After retiring from that life I became a lesson horse at the Delaware Horse Center. In October of 2007 Catherine Obarski, my donor, decided that this would be a great next career for me. She was right. I love it here! As I was getting older, my body just couldn't hold up to a lot of strenuous work and no more jumping for me.

I am 16.3 hands tall and a beautiful bay. However, you may notice a few things. I have many scars on my face, right flank, right rear leg and chest-all from an old injury as a youngster. My mom always told me not to play in the fences, but I guess I wanted to see for myself. Oops-now I have the scars to prove it. I have a brand on my left hip. Also, my left hind ankle/leg is always going to be thick or look swollen. Yes, another injury. I injured my deep flexor tendon while playing with my friends in turnout. I really am a very laid back guy; I just have a history of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You may notice my special eggbar shoes; they give my rear legs support.

I love to be groomed and I am a perfect gentleman to lead. The activities in the ring are very entertaining-not much I haven't seen in my day. I do not grow much of a coat, so you will notice that I wear a blanket when the weather gets cooler. There are lots of new and exciting things going on here and I can't wait to be apart of them all. The more attention the better. I think I will be a huge favorite around here-I heard one of the instructors say I was "so perfect, what a wonderful horse, really a sweet heart"! Guess that says it all!! I can't wait to meet you all very soon!
