Everyone who becomes a part of Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center (TRC) discovers a place of achievement, an environment of learning and a source of cherished friendships.

Our center is one of the largest and most progressive in the country. We offer a wide variety of programs designed with the individual goals of our students in mind.

Begun in 1978 with one horse, eight students and a vision for the future, Fieldstone Farm TRC today boasts a state-of-the-art 48,000 square foot facility and 36 carefully selected therapy horses. Annually, more than 800 students participate in Fieldstone Farm classes.

OUR STUDENTS

Students of all ages come to us with diverse backgrounds and ability levels. Whether they have physical, cognitive, sensory or emotional disabili-ties, they benefit from riding, driving or working with the horses at our center.

HOW HORSES MAKE A DIFFERENCE

For children and adults with disabilities, the eques-trian experience is life changing. No other therapeutic recreational opportunity benefits so many aspects of a disability in such a holistic way. Imagine the sense of confidence and independence a rider who uses a wheelchair feels on a horse. Think of a student's muscles growing stronger as he brushes his horse. Watch the emotional connection a rider develops with her horse, instructor, volunteers and fellow students.

It's a special place where riders of all ages benefit physically, cognitively and emotionally from a wide variety of horse experiences tailored to their needs by a trained team of horses, instructors and volunteers.

OUR PROGRAMS

Nationally certified instructors with the help of our specially trained volunteers conduct the following programs:

MOUNTED LESSONS - Riding lessons designed for all abilities.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS:

ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT - Horse care and stable management lessons that align with the Ohio Academic Content Standards.

AUTISM PROGAMMING - Riders with autism benefit from specially structured lessons.

CARRIAGE DRIVING - The art of guiding a horse from a cart or carriage.

DRILL TEAM - Independent riding of choreographed patterns set to music.

EQUICLUB - Club experience focused on socialization and horse care.

EQUINE ADVENTURE CLUB - Weeklong summer sessions of horse-related activities and riding lessons.

GAITWAY SCHOOL - Full day classroom and vocational lessons are led by a state certified teacher, job coaches and instructors. At-risk students participate in academic instruction and learn job skills in a motivating and challenging equine environment.

HIPPOTHERAPY - Physical, speech or occupational therapy using the horse's movement as a therapy tool.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING - Individuals from across the country receive training and certification as Therapeutic Riding Instructors.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION - Job training and placement for people with disabilities.
